How many recording profiles does Argus Capture include?

Argus Capture ships with 12 built-in recording profiles: YouTube Tutorial, Quick Message, Bug Report, Product Demo, Presentation, Course/Training, Meeting Recording, TikTok/Reels, YouTube Shorts, App Preview, Silent Clip, and Lossless/Archival. Five are enabled by default; the rest can be turned on in Preferences.

Can I create custom recording profiles?

Yes. You can duplicate any built-in profile and adjust all settings: codec, format, FPS, bitrate, resolution, audio source, cursor and keystroke display, webcam, auto-stop duration, watermark, blur zones, EQ, and cursor style. Custom profiles save across launches.

What is the auto-stop feature and which profiles use it?

Auto-stop ends a recording automatically after a set duration. Bug Report auto-stops at 60 seconds, Quick Message at 5 minutes, and App Preview at 30 seconds (matching the App Store maximum). The duration is configurable per profile from 30 seconds to 30 minutes, or disabled entirely.

Can I record to multiple formats at once?

Yes. Multi-profile mode lets you select more than one profile before recording. A single take produces one output file per selected profile simultaneously — useful when you need both a compressed web-ready file and a lossless archival master from the same session.

Does Argus Capture require a subscription?

No. Argus Capture is a one-time purchase with a 7-day free trial that includes full access. No account is required and no data leaves your Mac.
